I'm on budget billing and I don't always pay it on time however if you miss a month it seems that they are quick and easy to pull a disconnection notice on you immediately even if you're just missing one month payment and if you fall behind, they put you in some kind of stupid vicious cycle of disconnection notices if you just miss a couple weeks every single month. it's a terrible way to do business

Mark Kings electric has been disconnected when Electric is his primary and only heat source and he has serious medical problems

Preferred solution: His electric has been disconnected and he has no heat in his home and requires oxegen as needed and also requires it at bedtime..You're company is going against your own policys

With the recent power outage on 22nd of November in our area, we have a set of lights on the outside of the house that do not come on. Breakers have been checked. Lightbulbs have been changed. Technician is just coming out to see what kind of electricity we have coming into the house. That this does not resolve the issue we do appreciate that someones coming out to look at that part.

Poor information during an outage

So Ameren Illinois cant tell me where the outage is at or when its gonna be restored? Dont they have cell phones dont they have updated equipment cant they say theres a telephone pole down theres a line down .. or we killed somebody and were trying to remove the body something to let us know its gonna take an hour or 10 days instead of just making to sit here wondering if we should leave or stay? Another stellar Illinois monopoly dojng what they want with zero accountability!!

I think it’s ridiculous they can’t extend your payment when your behind by a week told them I needed two weeks to pay the whole balance and they said “ no” they’re bills are ridiculous can’t keep up!

Asked if I could extend payment until the 24th when husband gets social security! Was told no Dr note bc he has stage 4 cancer ! Ameren sucks so bad ! I wish there was a competitive elec co. They would be done. Theyre rates are ridiculous! Its pretty bad when your electric, water and gas are as much as a house payment! But of course were at theyre mercy! So we as consumers are just screwed!

Billing error - no refund

left a residence under ameren, paid the final bill after service was cancelled. then a month later receive a $640 bill from their mistake because they didnt charge me correctly the entire time i was there. wasn't offered an agreed price, wasnt offered a payment agreement. i did everything asked when living there and still being forced to fit a $600+ for their mistake.

Illegal disconnect

I started service at the end of May 2022 , it was a regular new service phone call . I received my first bill in the middle of June and it was for $1747.48 !

This was for a bill that was 8 years old and is on my bankruptcy which I'm in the process of filing. I called ameren and explained to the man the deal and he said I had till the end of July to figure everything out . On July 12 I wake up to no electric , I have 2 kids ,2 chinchillas, 2 cats , and a dog . I called ameren all day long ,one time I waited over an hour for a manager to come to the phone then got disconnected and called back and the next person said they dont even have managers.

It is now the 16th and we still have no electric and I was never not one time offered any kind of payment plan or any other option. my family was evicted during covid and homeless for almost a year so this place was our new beginning and for this to happen is soul crushing because I can't make it right and there is noone that will listen to me .

ameren is a monopoly and should be shut down . God bless everyone.

Price hike

I won't even give them 1 star. We are both disabled on fixed budget, and our bill went from 200, to 440 in 1 month, their solution is to keep my thermostat at 78 or 80, with wife being on oxygen, heat disease, copd,siezures, heart congestive failure, diabetic, and they say to keep temp in thermostat at 78 , and they will shut us off if we can't pay.

I have no issue paying 200 or so, I planned that ahead, but when they doubled our usage from 5.4 to 10.6, that's gouging we today went to heartland electric. I compared my bill to aunts bill who is 5 blocks away, she has double the size house we do, hers was only 172, mine at 440, this is some ***

Don’t care about their cuu

I was told at 4:20 AM this morning six 1722 that our power would be restored soon they had crews working on it, called at 3 PM saying they but have the power restored by 4 PM. Now theyre telling me it will not be restored until 5 PM. They do not care about their customers they could get two Fs about any of us. Liars liars liars

It's the middle of a pandemic and the government has given every state emergency money.. But I guess Ameren UE does not care about disabled people You have to be heartless individuals to turn someone's electric off in the middle of a pandemic and in the middle of winter.
